Meet Alexander
Master Barista in Hamburg
What are the main everyday tasks?
- My typical day as a Master Barista looks like that I first check that my colleagues are doing well and everyone is comfortable, then all the machines are on it. I check that everything is running as it should and repair or re-adjust the machines, if necessary, so that our world-class coffee quality for our world-class guests, always remains at the peak. Then I train and continue to develop my colleagues, so that we all are constantly evolving and always remain up to date and perhaps potential new Master Barista can follow my footsteps. My job is not done until everyone is satisfied - colleagues, machines and our guests - so that the best coffee experience is possible.
What made you choose Espresso House?
- I chose Espresso House because I really like the flat organization and the opportunities for development, as well as the overall working atmosphere. The atmosphere within the team is simply great. The amazing colleagues and my passion to make really great coffee make me want to stay!
What have you learned while working at Espresso House?
- I learned so much more about my passion for coffee, and especially by teaching myself to be a Master Barista. I am truly proud to call myself a Master Barista.
What is best about working at Espresso House?
- The best part of working at EH are the colleagues and the opportunity to share the passion and coffee experience with each other.
When was the last time you were laughing at work – and what was it about?
- I laugh all the time at work with my colleagues, whether it's a joke or some clumsiness on my part, there's pretty much not a day without laughter at EH.
